SMT Durometer Series Wedge The Durometer Series Wedge may be the most innovative design from SMT. It features a rubber shock-absorbing insert in the hosel of the club. Shock, vibration, or feel as vibration is often called, is transferred up the shaft to the hands. SMT effectively dampens the transmission of impact vibration where it begins, at the hosel. The Players Series Absorbs up to 14 percent of the shock felt when the clubface hits the ball. Tour Series Absorbs up to 4 percent of the shock felt when the clubface hits the ball. SMT Solitaire Fairway Wood Our first step into the fairway wood market had to be a bold one. After reviewing the high speed photographs from the testing phase of the smooth face heads, we found a series of images that had, what looked to be some kind of smoke at both ends of the face. After quite a bit of study, it turns out that I was looking at the `water test’ images. WE alternately sprayed the ball and the face to simulate the many conditions that a golfer could face on the course. It turns out that the `smoke’ that we saw was water leaving the face.high in th toe area, and low in the heel area. So, we simply put the only two scorelines that this head has, on the same angle that the water wanted to use to leave the face in the high speed pictures, to aid the natural tendencies of the clubhead in removing debris and water from destroying the otherwise perfect shot. The Solitaire brings with it a very unique bi-level toe and heel design to promote optimal trajectory. SMT Spectrum Driver After 13 months on the design table, SMT shocked the World with the Spectrum. The first-ever full 3-sided wrap around soleplate design on the market. This was designed for the most efficient transfer of power SMT could get.
